Cinema Faculty Position
The Department of Communication Arts at Lee University, Cleveland, TN, seeks exceptional candidates for a full-time faculty position in Cinema. With almost 100 students majoring in the cinema emphasis, it is one of the strongest programs in the department. We invite candidates with a relevant Ph.D. or M.F.A. to apply for a tenure track position with a rank of assistant professor or higher. Well qualified applicants with a Master’s degree will be considered for the lecturer rank. Individuals from underrepresented populations are strongly encouraged to apply. This position is expected to begin August 1, 2018.
Lee’s cinema program focuses on equipping students in each discipline of filmmaking to become effective cinematic storytellers. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of courses that would include several of the following: field audio, post-production audio, film production and management, cinematography, motion picture editing, the film short and documentary film production. This faculty member will also mentor students on film production projects and advise the university on equipment acquisition and maintenance.
Lee University faculty candidates are expected to demonstrate the following: a strong Christian commitment, compatibility with the university’s lifestyle covenant, teaching ability at the college level, a willingness to mentor students academically and professionally, and an understanding of integrating Christian faith into academic studies.
