Assistant/ Associate Professor of Music – Music Education – Choral The Lee University School of Music invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Music Education, starting August 2019. We seek a dynamic teacher with middle/high school experience in choral music education who is committed to teaching and mentoring students at undergraduate and graduate levels.A completed doctorate in music education (or equivalent) is required. University level teaching experience is preferred; a minimum of 3 years of successful choral music teaching in secondary level public or private school settings is required. Candidates should demonstrate specialized content knowledge for teaching choral music in secondary schools, familiarity with EdTPA, knowledge of current issues in music education, experience in online teaching and learning, and a broad understanding of music teaching, research and scholarship. Teaching assignments may include undergraduate methods courses, on-line graduate courses in music education, oversight of graduate research, and mentoring/supervision of student teachers. Based on the candidate's experience and the program needs, other courses or tasks may be assigned.
