Music Industry / Entrepreneurship The Lee University School of Music invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Musicianship Studies, starting August 2019. We seek a dynamic classroom teacher with practical experience in the music industry who is committed to mentoring students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Preference will be given to applicants with a terminal degree or equivalent professional experience in music industry, music technology, or related fields. Though applicants with degrees in other areas will be considered, significant entrepreneurial experience in the music industry is essential. The successful candidate will also demonstrate understanding of the current music industry and its relationship to worship practices of the contemporary Christian church, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and peers. The ideal candidate will have successful experience in both arenas and articulate viable strategies to prepare students for careers both inside and outside the Christian marketplace. Teaching assignments will include courses in music business and at least one cognate area, depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience. Besides classroom teaching, the position includes advising students, as well as service to the university, the community, and the profession. Reporting to the Department Chair, the appointee will be expected to work cooperatively with departmental faculty to help realize the mission and goals of the unit.
