Assistant/Associate Professor of Elementary Education

The Helen DeVos College of Educations invites applications for a tenure track position in Elementary Education, beginning August 2020.

Lee University and the Helen DeVos College of Education is currently seeking program approval from SACS-COC for the Doctor of Education in Professional Practice (Ed.D.). The success of graduate programs in the Helen DeVos College of Education, including the Ed.S., has brought the desire to add the terminal degree to the college. This traditional classroom preparation program requires highly qualified individuals for its implementation. The following position is one of three, tenure-track openings in the Helen DeVos College of Education beginning in August 2020.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or Ed.D in Elementary Education or in a related field, with demonstrated expertise and passion for teaching. Expertise is sought in the areas of curriculum instruction, pedagogy (methods), and all areas of literacy with specific experience in teaching writing at K-8 levels.

Responsibilities will include advising, teaching courses in the principles of education, methods for teaching, curriculum instruction, and literacy (reading, writing, listening and speaking skills). Experience in the K-8 setting is required and college teaching experience is preferred.

The Helen DeVos College of Education, is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and approved by the state of Tennessee. This position is situated in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education with possible teaching duties extending to graduate studies in the above-mentioned areas.
