Nursing Students to Host Poster Days

Lee University’s School of Nursing will host Poster Days on Friday, Nov. 18 from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 12:45 p.m.-2:30 p.m. The event will take place on the second floor of Lee’s Nursing Building on Parker Street.

Nursing students graduating in the spring or winter of 2017 worked on a project to address a well-developed clinical question on a topic of their choice. Topics covered include treatment of measles in Africa through vaccination, treating compassion fatigue in critical care nurses through mentorship, and reducing heart failure readmission through education, among others. The goal of the project is to focus on improvement of quality healthcare and the nursing profession.

Each student created a scholarly poster displaying thorough research on his or her topic, a strategy to improve the practice in a real-world setting, the barriers and benefits of the plan, and the outcome they hope to achieve.

“These students have done amazing work on these posters, and they certainly demonstrate the potential effect that our graduates can have on future patients, their profession, and the healthcare system,” said Kathleen Rose, assistant professor of nursing at Lee.

The event is free and open to the public.
