“An Evening of Worship” to Continue U-Church Series Share Tweet Email LinkedIn 03/12/17 Top News Chapel University Wide All Inclusive Life @ Lee The Lee University spring U-Church season will continue with the student-led event, “Come to the Table: An Evening of Worship,” on Sunday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.“Come to the Table” is a unique worship event that is designed and led by students. Attendees encounter many diverse styles of student-led worship, including music by the Lee University Chapel Band, elements of spoken word, dance, art, and Communion. The theme for the evening will be “Stories of Surrender” which was inspired by Revelation 12:11a. The event will also feature a new original song written by members of the U-Church creative student planning team. “The original song was born out of this idea that we've all been found in the same place - a place of brokenness, hurt, and hardship - but, as Christ meets us there, we respond with surrender,” said Caroline Hamby, a junior music and worship major and student worship leader. “That looks so different for everyone - maybe surrendering a dream, a plan, or a whole-hearted lifestyle change. But at the end of the day, it's something we all share - being covered by the grace of God, we must constantly position ourselves in a yielded posture of surrender.” U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event open to students, alumni, and the community. Seating is first come, first served. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.Childcare is available for all who attend. Please contact Lindsey Sifferman for more information.
