VOL Makes it to Final Round of A Cappella Music Awards, Voting Open

Vote for Voices

Lee University’s Voices of Lee has made it to the final round of voting for the 2018 A Cappella Music Awards.

Voices is in the running for the “Collegiate Group of the Year,” “Religious Group of the Year,” and “Video of the Year” for their music video of “What a Beautiful Name” by Hillsong.

“We feel so honored to be nominated in these three categories by the public, and we are very thankful that our music is appreciated,” said Danny Murray, Voices of Lee director.

The group has made it to the final round of voting and was the only group to be nominated in three different categories. Voting will close on Feb. 25.

Voting is one time only.

The A Cappella Music Awards is a worldwide red carpet event focused on all major independent music groups. This year’s award ceremony will take place on May 19 in Nashville, Tennessee. The evening will highlight live performances and include a red carpet for all participants to walk on.

There are 21 award categories, of which 19 are voted on by the public while two categories will be judged the day of the event at the awards ceremony.

Voices of Lee was founded in 1994 and later propelled into the spotlight on NBC’s season one of the Sing-Off. Since then, the ensemble has been invited to sing at various festivals, including the Shang Hai International Music Festival. They have performed at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, have been featured performers for Christmas at the White House, appeared on the 2016 CMA Christmas Celebration, and will appear at Carnegie Hall in New York City this May.
