High School Art Exhibit to Open Thursday

Lee University will host a reception to celebrate the opening of the fourth annual High School Art Exhibit on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 4-5:30 p.m. Both the exhibit and the reception will be held in the Squires Library Art Gallery.

The exhibit, which will run through March 21, will feature artwork created by students from Bradley Central High School, Cleveland High School, Walker Valley High School, and the Bradley Country Home Educators Association.

Faculty from Lee’s art program will select the top three works from the exhibition and offer scholarships to the students who created them.

“It is a joy to work with the local high school art teachers in promoting their students’ artwork,” said John Simmons, assistant professor of art at Lee. “The students exhibit a lot of skill and creativity in their work, and we are excited to have the annual display on our campus to help further their artistic endeavors.”
