Dr. Linda Cash, director of Bradley County Schools, will address Lee University students at the summer commencement ceremony on Saturday, July 27, at 10:30 a.m. in the Conn Center.

“Since she came to Cleveland to direct our county schools, Dr. Cash has distinguished herself as a creative and tireless leader in K-12 education,” said Lee president Dr. Paul Conn. “She has become a good friend of Lee University and our graduates, and we know she will have something important and interesting to share with the summer graduates and their families.”

Cash has 28 years in the field of education and is recognized for leadership and innovation in curriculum development, classroom management, advising and counseling, and conflict resolution.

Prior to becoming the director of Bradley County Schools in 2015, Cash served as assistant director of schools for Robertson County Schools and assistant dean of graduate education for Union University. She has also served as principal, assistant principal, and classroom teacher.

Lee’s summer commencement is one of three graduation ceremonies held each year at the university. One hundred sixty-four students will receive degrees in the Saturday morning ceremony.

Prior to the Saturday commencement, a commissioning ceremony will be held Friday, July 26, at 6:30 p.m., also in the Conn Center. The commissioning service is a special occasion for students and their families to reflect on student experiences at the university.

During the event, there are five student speakers who share brief stories about their time at Lee. Each graduate is presented a personalized Bible in a traditional walk across the Conn Center stage.

The hooding, commissioning, and commencement ceremonies are ticketed events. For those who wish to view the events online, live streaming will be available.
