    Biochemistry

    The biochemistry curriculum is designed to prepare you for graduate studies, professional school, or a career in industry. The program emphasizes development of analytical thinking skills, cooperative problem solving, and independent investigation of chemical principles applied to biological systems. The pre-professional track prepares you for successful completion of entrance examinations and to engage in concepts covered in core didactic courses in Medical, Dental, Veterinary, or Pharmacy schools.

    Biological Science

    The Biological Science program is designed to prepare you for graduate studies, professional school, or a career in industry. The philosophy of the general program is to provide a broad exposure to the various sub-disciplines of biology so as to provide you with a solid foundation of knowledge and understanding on which to build with additional graduate training or work experience. The pre-professional track prepares you to successfully complete entrance examinations and to engage in concepts covered in core didactic courses in Medical, Dental, Veterinary, or Pharmacy schools. The education programs prepare you for initial employment as biology teachers in secondary schools. The ecology/environmental science track provides highly customizable training for students interested in careers that include ecology, field biology, sustainable development, and ecological missions. There is a strong emphasis in developing professional skills required in a rapidly growing environmental job market. In all programs there is an emphasis on understanding, problem solving, exploration of the scientific literature, and research.
