    Charlotte Kies is and active performer and music educator. She currently teaches at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, and previously taught at the West Chester Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her current and former students have consistently received outstanding marks in the Ohio Music Education Association Solo and Ensemble event. Outside of lessons, her students have performed in a number of selective ensembles, including the Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble, the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestras, the Ohio All State Bands, and American Music Abroad.

    Charlotte received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, her Master of Music degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and recently completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

    During the summer months of her academic career Charlotte furthered her education attending such festivals as the Orford centre d'arts master class and octet workshops and the Pierre Monteux School and Music Festival. Her primary teachers were James Campbell, Michael Rusinek, Jonathan Gunn, and Ben Freimuth.

    While living in Cincinnati she performed in productions at the Covedale Center for Performing Arts, and has appeared in concert with the Evansville Symphony Orchestra (Evansville, IN). She has worked on various studio recordings, including an album featuring Nikolai Myaskovsky's Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, and a collection of orchestral compositions of William C. White.
