On Monday, Dec. 17, the Lee University Financial Aid Office hosted Christmas Around the World, a party for international students that were unable to travel home for the holidays. Several staff and faculty, along with their families, gathered in the Paul Conn Student Union to celebrate the season of giving with 53 students hailing from Nigeria, China, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. Each student received a gift bag filled with items provided by members of the Lee family. The evening offered a performance of “Emmanuel” by a student ensemble, a reflection by Sarah Kade - a native Nigerian sharing a Christmas experience, a reading by Vice President for Enrollment Phil Cook, and closing remarks with Tennessee State Representative Kevin Brooks. Pictured here are some of the students with Secretary to the Dean of Students Renee Lastra during Christmas Around the World.
