Lee to Host MBA Preview Session Thursday
Friday, January 25, 2013
Lee University’s new Master of Business Administration (MBA) program will host a reception and preview session on Thursday, Jan. 31at 7:00 p.m. in the Centenary Room of the Higginbotham Administration Building. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the program and answer prospective students’ questions.
Lee’s MBA equips individuals with a faith-based approach to senior-level leadership in industry, government, and non-profit organizations. A focus on experiential learning ensures that students apply theory to actual business problems beginning in the first course.
“We understand that financial performance is an important objective, but we also realize that long-term value can only be delivered by socially responsible organizations,” said Shane Griffith, associate professor of business and director of Lee’s MBA program.
Students complete two courses each fall, spring, and summer semester, and should complete the degree requirement of 36 hours within 24 months. No specific undergraduate major is required and courses are available for applicants who have not completed the prerequisite business training.
Griffith continued, “One unique aspect of our program is the hybrid format which combines the convenience of online learning with the personal interaction of the classroom.”
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges notified Lee officials in July that the program had its full accreditation, making it the first graduate degree offered by Lee’s Department of Business.
The business department, led by Dr. Dewayne Thompson, received national accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs in summer of 2008.
Anyone interested in learning more about the MBA program is welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
