Science and Mathematics Symposium on Tuesday
Saturday, April 13, 2013
The Science and Mathematics Poster Symposium will take place on Tuesday, April 16, from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Great Room, located on the 3rd floor of the Science and Math Complex at Lee. The symposium is sponsored by Lee University’s Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Science and mathematics majors will present posters of research they have collected over the course of the semester. Presenters will include representatives from classes such as Biochemistry Synthesis and Molecular Biology, Genetics, Physics, Mathematical Modeling, and Biology Senior Seminar.
“We invite the community - and especially high school students interested in pursuing undergraduate majors in the sciences or mathematics - to attend our poster session,” said Associate Professor of Biology Dr. Lori West. “Attendees will see the progression through the scientific process as students relay their hypotheses, experimental methods and results, and as they discuss the conclusions they have drawn from their results.”
The symposium is free and open to everyone.
