On Saturday, Oct. 5, the Lee University chapter of Sigma Tau Delta hosted its annual undergraduate literary symposium, which featured 53 submissions read by 50 students from 11 different colleges and universities. Dr. Carolyn Dirksen, distinguished professor of English and director of faculty development at Lee, was the plenary speaker for the event, and she shared some of her personal story and the significance of reading and writing as a message of encouragement to writers and English students. Pictured here is Lee student Jackie Campbell reading her story, “Autumn Dancers.”
