Richards Named Homecoming Queen

Katelyn Richards was crowned Lee University’s 2013 Homecoming Queen on Saturday, Nov. 2, as part of the homecoming festivities.

Richards, daughter of Jeff and Teresa Richards, is a biology major from Alpharetta, Ga. She is the president of Crossover Ministries, serves as resident chaplain at Lee, and works as a teaching assistant for science and benevolence classes. Richards was escorted by Drew Palmer.

Palmer, son of Tom and Janelle Palmer of Maryville, Tenn., is a pre-physical therapy major. He is currently involved in Crossover Ministries and was a member of the Student Leadership Council and Residential Life at Lee.

The other representatives for the senior class were: Janie Evans, escorted by Ryan Hartman; Kalen Johnson, escorted by Jonathan Berry; and Forrest Wilson, escorted by Tyler Oda.

Evans is the daughter of Brian and Paula Evans of Huntsville, Ala. She is a telecommunications major with a music minor. Evans is a member of Delta Zeta Tau and Alpha Gamma Chi. She is also a member of Campus Choir.

Hartman is a psychology major with a business minor from Delaware, Ohio. He is involved in Alpha Gamma Chi and Omega Alpha Phi. Hartman also works as a Peer Leader, and he is a member of Alpha Chi National Honor Society. He is the son of Chris and Doyle Hartman.

Johnson, daughter of Ronnie and Jacquie Johnson of Murfreesboro, Tenn., is an exercise science major with coaching and fitness/wellness minors. Johnson is a little sister for Tau Kappa Omega and she served as a resident assistant.

Berry, son of Gregory and Jennifer Coleman, is an education major from Morganton, N.C. He was a member of Lee Singers, and is currently involved in Upsilon Xi and Sigma Nu Sigma.

Wilson is a history and humanities double major, and a member and former secretary of the Student Leadership Council. She is also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, Kappa Lambda Iota, and the Humanities Coalition. Wilson is the daughter of Chris and Jenne Wilson of Etowah, Tenn.

Oda is the son of Scott and Robin Oda of Troy, Ohio. He is involved in Upsilon Xi and Omega Alpha Phi, and works as a Peer Leader. He is a business administration major.

The junior class was represented by Meredith Harwell, escorted by Chad Turner, and Christina North, escorted by Connor Zehr.

Harwell is from Nashville, Tenn., majoring in psychology. Turner is also from Nashville, and he is a digital media studies major.

North is a public relations major from Snellville, Ga. Zehr is from Columbus, Ohio, and he is majoring in international business.

Representing the sophomore class is Indyasia Johnson, escorted by Caleb Wade, and Ariana Kim, escorted by Chad Hall.

Johnson is a biochemistry major from Cincinnati, Ohio. Wade is from Knoxville, Tenn. and a business administration major.

Kim is from Cleveland, Tenn. and is majoring in English education. Hall is an accounting major from Lexington, Ky.

Representing the freshman class is Victoria Forhetz, escorted by Ashton Roach, and Kandie

Kerezman, escorted by Grayson Sutherland.

Forhetz is from Brentwood, Tenn., and she is an elementary education major. Roach is a music business major from Calhoun, Ga.

Kerezman is an undeclared major from Phoenix, Ariz. Sutherland is from Ooltewah, Tenn., and also currently undeclared.

The Homecoming Court was presented at half-time of the Flames basketball game on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 2.
