All Sons and Daughters to Open U-Church Season

Lee University’s fall U-Church series will offer another diverse line-up for this fall, providing students with the opportunity to worship together in an atypical chapel format. The line-up includes All Sons and Daughters this month, Unity Dance Troupe in October, and the student-led “An Evening of Worship” in November.

Opening the season on Sept. 13 will be All Sons and Daughters, a small band consisting of Leslie Jordan and David Leonard. Originally from Franklin, Tennessee, the two started their musical journey as worship leaders at Journey Church in Franklin. The duo strives to create authentic pieces of music for their audiences.
“We’ve allowed ourselves to be more creative, more reflective of who we are, while still writing songs for the church,” said Jordan.
Since the release of their three EPs, “Brokeness Aside,” “Reason to Sing,” and “The Longing,” the band also recorded its first album known as “Season One.” Currently, they are on “The Neighborhood” tour, aiming to bring communities together through smaller city stops.

The Unity Dance Troupe will lead the U-Church service on Oct. 4 as they perform THE VEIL: Redemption of God’s Creation. A Lee University group, they strive to expose the heart of God through dance. They also pursue the development of technique and the artistry of dance that promotes confidence and growth in the lives of students.
Two different services, a 3 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m., will be held to offer audiences more chances to attend one of the performances.

On Nov. 22, students will lead the final U-Church of the fall, an “Evening of Worship,” a service that will include an opportunity to take communion for all who attend.
“The committee behind the event hopes to provide an atmosphere where those in attendance can grapple with their brokenness, struggles, and personal responsibility all leading up to defining who each of us is becoming,” said Michelle Bostic, discipleship coordinator.
U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event for students, alumni, and the community. Seating is first come, first serve.
Childcare is available for all who attend. Please contact Christie Wyatt at [email protected] for more information.
