Auditions for Lee Children’s Choir

News

Students who love to sing and meet new friends from around the community
should not miss the opportunity to join the Lee University Children’s
Chorale. Auditions will be held Saturday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
and Thursday, Sept. 8 from 4-6 p.m.

Lee University Children’s
Chorale is a community choir which was established in 1996 to provide
supplemental singing experiences for Cleveland area children in the 3rd-
8th grades.

The enrichment program focuses on vocal development,
musical training and performance. The chorale is under the direction of
Sarah Phillips Burris who is also the general music educator at
Hopewell Elementary School.

Burris asks that students be prepared to sing the first verse of “America” which is often known as “My Country ’tis of Thee.”

Tuition
is $100 for the semester, and parents are responsible for purchasing a
uniform. Rehearsals will be Monday evenings from 6-7:30 in the
Curtsinger Music Building beginning on Sept. 12, 2011.

Students may schedule an audition for the fall semester by calling the Lee University Department of Vocal Music at 423-614-8256.
