Family Force 5 to Kick Off U-Church
Family Force 5 (FF5), a Christian crunk rock band will open Lee University’s first Sunday night U-Church concert series on Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.
The group started as a family band in Atlanta Ga., and since their first album release in 2006 has developed as a prominent artist of the crunk rock scene. The band has since released three studio albums, a dance remix album, and will release an upcoming full-length album titled “III” this October.
FF5 has received numerous awards including Yahoo’s Who’s Next, MTVU’s Freshman Class, and the AP Reader’s Choice, and continue to create punk, rock, electronic, and dance fusion that demands a party.
The band played its fourth stint at the Vans Warped Tour this summer as one of the premiere independent bands in the world.
“I have a lot of respect for anyone who goes onstage and takes their show to a level that transcends just playing their record,” said Cobra Starship vocalist Gabe Saporta about the band in an Alternative Press feature. “Family Force 5 put on a show. They psych up the crowd and it’s a good time.”
Lee University U-Church remains a part of the regular chapel schedule for Lee students, but has recently changed its format to meet only once a month. In the past year, Lee has welcomed quality Christian artists such as Barlow Girl, Shane & Shane, Superchick, and Sanctus Real.
This event is free and open to the public. U-Church welcomes youth groups, high school students, and other members of the community to join in for an electrifying night of music.
