Homecoming 5K Continues Fun Run Tradition
The Lee University 2011 Homecoming weekend will host a certified 5K Run. The annual race occurs Saturday Nov. 5, with registration starting at 7:00 a.m. The run begins at 8:00 a.m. in front of the Paul Conn Student Union.
Director of Community Relations Merica Stum said, “The Homecoming 5K has become popular among our local alumni and friends. We welcome everyone back for another great Lee University race event. Runners and walkers will enjoy the flat, downtown 65 Roses 5K course, and finish their race experience with bagels and coffee.”
Participants may register by phone, email, online or on site, and are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item. Cost is $15 per runner and will be collected on site; proceeds will benefit the Leonard Center Food Bank at Lee. Entry is free for Lee students.
The 5K course is certified, though no chip timing will be available. Free race shirts will be given to runners while supply lasts and prizes will be awarded.
