Hope for Exiles Worship Event to Take Place Oct. 18
Lee University will host a worship service, Hope for Exiles, on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center. The event will feature a night of worship and music presented by both Lee students and alumni.
Hope for Exiles is a worship group that aims to foster love, faith, and community at Lee University, in Cleveland, and around the world. This year’s theme is “No Turning Back,” which, according to Hope for Exiles worship leader and event director Jeroy Watson, reflects the group’s continuous journey of hope and renewal.
“I have a dream burning deep in my heart to create an atmosphere for people to enter in and experience the freedom and prosperity that they can only receive from God,” said Watson. “My dream is to welcome all into the presence of God—a presence of love, hope, faith, and renewal.”
This year’s worship team includes student vocalists and band members from several of Lee’s music ensembles, including Campus Choir, Ladies of Lee, LeeUWorship, and Evangelistic Singers.
“The book of Psalms shares that ‘men desire unfailing love,’ and the love God poured out on me is a kind of love only God can give,’ said Watson. “That’s what I want to share with the world, through the gift of music.”
The event is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
