Housefires to Open Spring U-Church Series
Lee University will welcome the worship band Housefires to the Conn Center for the opening of the spring U-Church series, taking place on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Housefires originated at Grace Midtown Church in Atlanta in 2014. The church had released two prior worship albums at Grace Midtown with Pat Barrett, former member of Housefires.
One of Housefires’ best known songs is “Good Good Father.” The song attained popularity after Chris Tomlin, a contemporary Christian music artist, recorded the song and released it as a single.
“Our hope is that these songs would spark fires that burn bright in ordinary houses all over the world…that people would be awake to God in every part of their life…the polished and the ordinary,” said Nate Moore, member of Housefires.
The group recently released its fifth album, “Housefires V,” this past July. Prior to this, Housefires released four live albums. “Housefires III” has charted on three Billboard magazine charts. It was 106 in the Billboard 200, number three in Christian Albums, and six in Independent Albums. It also charted on the Official Charts Company from the United Kingdom on its Official Christian and Gospel Albums Chart, at number two.
In 2016, the band participated in the Outcry Tour and continued touring independently in 2017.
The spring 2020 U-Church series will continue with “An Evening of Worship” on March 22, and a special guest appearance on April 3, during Lee Day activities.
