Mundy Participates in ASA Conference in Seattle

Dr. Karen Mundy-Judkins, professor of sociology at Lee University, recently attended the American Sociological Association (ASA) in Seattle, Washington. She was a participant in the Medical Sociology Section and the Alpha Kappa Delta Honor Society.

Mundy-Judkins was invited to join the Medical Interest Group of the ASA. This group consists of academics teaching in medical schools and conducting research in health care settings.

In addition to her work in medical sociology and epidemiology, she is the sponsor of the Lee chapter of AKD which is the International Sociology Honor Society. For the year 2015-16, the Lee chapter received national recognition for its outstanding work in scholarship, service, and research.

Mundy-Judkins has been a part of Lee’s faculty since 1980. In addition to advising sociology students, she is one of the pre-law advisors for the university, a graduate instructor, and was a recipient of Lee’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 1983 and the Excellence in Scholarship Award in 1988.
